"Benedict, can I speak to you for a second?" I asked, with no emotion showing.

"Very well,"Benedict said as he walked towards her."What do you need?"

"I don't get what I've done wrong, I was trying to protect us" I say, not looking directly in his eyes.

"Okay."Benedict said, realizing what this conversation/monolouge would be about.

Amelia-May
"I had to talk like that to him, I saw no other way to get out of that situation. He was going to kill you Benedict. I'd rather be with him and you being alive than you being dead" I paused for a second, lifting my gaze to meet his.

"I'd rather be dead than hoodwinked."Benedict muttered crossing his arms.

"I'm sorry, okay? I just thought it was right at the time. I thought you would understand why" I say, rubbing my arm. "Worse things than this has happened to us."

"You lied about your death. How do you think I felt after I had heard you were 'dead'? I couldn't coop myself away either, people would of gotten suspicious" I say.

"Do you ever think about how it was for me? Everything I ever know gone in a flash. I am sorry, but it's not just you who is taking all the damage."Benedict said, his voice getting louder.

"It wasn't easy trying to flirt with Chameleon. Every word I said felt like I was being stabbed in the heart nuermous times. I hated doing it, but I wanted to keep you alive. It was hard almost losing you twice, I didnt want to go through it all again, but this time you wouldn't of returned "

Benedict stayed quiet at this one.

"I was carrying your child too, Benedict. A child that was killed before it had seen the light of day" I say, feeling the tears forming in my eyes. " I thought that you would understand that I was trying to save you. I thought you understood that I loved you"

Benedict dared to look her in the eyes, deeply shaken by all this.

"I believed you loved me. But you've never said it. Not once" I say, my voice becoming a whisper at the end of the sentence.

"And I thought you understood this job. Never, ever can we be together, no matter how much one or," gulp,"both of us wanted it."Benedict said, his gaze not leaving Amelia's eyes.

I pulled my gaze away from his and sighed. "I do understand that, Benedict, but it's a nice thing to know, Y'know."

"How is love a nice thing? At the end, you end up hurt or dead."Benedict noticed.

"You have to avoid looking at the future, just keep focused on the now" I say, lifting my gaze to Benedict's nose, not wanting to look in his eyes.
