"If we're going to be together, I'll have to put up with it. And, frankly? I don't think I want to be obliged to cheer someone up on a daily basis", Isaac said, not believing the words he was saying. It sounded like a break-up talk.

I lowered my gaze to the ground, rubbing my forehead with my hand. "Probably more than cheering up" I mumbled, mostly to myself.

"I honestly can't do that. I thought we were in this together. Goodbye", Isaac said walking away, too wrecked to actually say the final words.

I stared after him, confused. "Isaac?" I called, but I knew he wouldn't respond.

Isaac tilted his head forward."I can't, I just can't", he said in a small voice.

I walk quickly, trying to catch him up. "Isaac" I repeated.

Isaac knew he couldn't outrun him, so he turned around with tears in his eyes."Don't. Please."

I shook my head at him, "Why? What can I do? To stop this madness?" I asked, looking down at him.

"You have to accept yourself", Isaac's voice was barely a whisper, because he was afraid it'd break.

"How do I do that?" I asked, still looking at him, my eyes welling up again. "Tell me, please, I don't know how"

"I-" Isaac started, but couldn't continue. Instead he pulled him into a last, desperate kiss before running away. Relationships weren't his thing. He didn't know how to handle this, these emotions, all these words. He never did. Sometimes it was easier to run away. He didn't wait for the bus, he just ran.

I stared after him again, once again shouting his name. Why was he doing this? He could help me, he could help stop this madness.

I cleaned some spilt coffee on the counter, recently I had been increasingly clumsy.

{it had been a week or two, isaac isn't such a sadist}

"Come on, let's go to get coffee", James said smiling at Isaac, a smile that was very familiar to him. It was the 'you're-quite-a-catch-i-can't-wait-to-tell-everyone-about-you' smile. But Isaac wasn't going to be his trophy wife. "What, why?" he asked looking at the Starbucks James was heading to."Because I feel like it." James just shrugged."But... do we have to go to that one?" Isaac asked gulping. As far as he knew, Andrew still worked there. He hadn't seen him in weeks, not after that dramatic, soap-opera breakup."Awh, come onnn", James pleaded giving him the puppy eyes he never really liked. And they went to the Starbucks. When they reached the counter, a lady served them, but Isaac was fully aware of a person just across the counter. He didn't say anything, though, he kept his head low. They got their coffee and they sat down, but Isaac's view kept running towards Andrew. Luckily, they were pretty far away and Isaac didn't think that he was able to see him.

I gazed up towards the clock, bored, still having a while before work ended. "Andrew, go clean that table there" The manager said, I sighed lightly and wandered over to the table, not spotting the people on the table next to me.

No. No no no no no. That word kept repeating in Isaac's mind as he watched him. He was so distracted he didn't even notice that he burned himself with the coffee until James bumped him."Wha- ow!" Isaac squeaked wiping the hot coffee off of his lip."Are you okay, baby?" James asked with 'honest to God' worry in his eyes."I'm fine, don't fret", Isaac said finally focusing at James. He was quite a piece of work, Isaac must admit, but there was something boring about him. Blonde hair, aqua blue eyes, surfer's tan. In New York. Just a thought about that made Isaac want to giggle. He was too perfect on the outside, and the inside... too predictable. He was something Isaac'd date in high school. Maybe James was his trophy wife.

I recognised that voice, I whirled around to see him, knowing I would regret it. "You do know there are other Starbucks in this damn city" I said.

{silent screamed nos}

"Excuse you", James frowned while Isaac put his fists in front of his mouth so he wouldn't speak."I will not tolerate that kind of language", James continued. For God's sake, did he read Jane Austen? No? Shakespeare, then? This sort of expression annoyed Isaac greatly.

I looked towards the guy, I'm guessing new boyfriend. One of those pretty boys. Is that what Isaac likes? "This doesn't involve you, kiddo" I said, returning my attention back to Isaac.

"Kid, huh?" James said and prepared to get up and confront him. Isaac placed his hand on James' shoulder and pushed him down not so gently."Don't, just don't", he said quietly. "You need to be more polite to strangers", James said through gritted teeth.

I scowled at him, "I find that strangers need to be politer" I noticed.

"The customer is always right", James growled. "Stop, okay? James, isn't your training starting soon?" Isaac asked moving away the shaky clenched fists from his face. James muttered something angrily as he said his goodbyes and left the Starbucks. Isaac's eyes flickered to Andrew."You and I need to talk. Come on", he said getting up and going to the most solitary part of the shop (because he didn't want Andrew to get punished for leaving the shop whatsoever), which were, incidentally, the halls which lead to the bathrooms. Not the ideal place.
