I joined with him for the last part, before adding

"Our love is all we need..."Zach said lowering his guitar.

Ellie
"To make it through" I finished. "Well that was fun" I smiled, stretching my legs out

"But you failed the last part."Zach said.

Ellie
"You failed at getting the chords right" I replied, shrugging.

"Shh. I was practicing them when you came in."Zach said.

Ellie
I hummed Christmas songs as I placed tinsel around the apartment, I hung up some baubles on the doorknobs.

Zach was sitting on the sofa in his usually grumpy state. His book was on his knees and his forehead was nearly touching the book, and in the curled up state he gave away no comment on Ellie's decorating.

Ellie
I glanced at Zachariah "Come cheer up! It's almost Christmas!" I said, grinning. I found a Santa hat from a box and placed it on top of his head. "There, perfect"

Zach sighed, but didn't bother to remove the hat off of his head. Too lazy."You know that Christmas was first a peasant holiday, and that Jesus was actually born in January, but they transferred his birthday so it'd fit with the celebration?"

Ellie
"so? It's a time to celebrate!" I said, rolling my eyes at him. I fastened some more tinsel around the base of the tv.

"Still. Christmas isn't even about Santa, it was that commercial of Coca Cola's that made everyone believe in fat bearded man wearing a red suit."Zach continued flipping the page.

Ellie
"but Santa is real!" I complained, moving to decorate something else. "Stop being such a spoilsport" I added.

"No he isn't."Zach insisted shaking the santa hat off.

Ellie
"But he is!" I said, crossing my arms "How else did you get your presents when you were younger.

"I didn't,"Zach answered calmly.

Ellie
I paused for a second, "Then you must of been on the naughty list, even in foster homes I got presents from Santa" I say

"Nope, that's not why."Zach shook his head lightly turning the page.

Ellie
"Santa probably had his reasons" I say, admiring my handy work.

"Santa doesn't exist, you nitwit."Zach snarled at Ellie.

Ellie
"He does exist" I scowled, crossing my arms across my chest.

"Okay, we'll stop there. It is very late and I am tired."Zach got up and closed his book.

Ellie
"It's my turn for the bed" I say, looking at him.

"No it is not."Zach shook his head as he left the book on the bookshelf.
