Sophie and Hazel, numéro 1

I look at Victoria, puzzled as to why she was acting strangely. "Mum", I turn back to her, "This is Victoria. Victoria", I turn to her, "this is my mother".

(technically its true he did follow her home)
Victoria
"Hi Ms Winters" I said, I quickly scan over her. Huh, how odd we meet Johann's mother in the middle of literally nowhere. But hey stranger things have happened, we are in the middle of a motherfucking apocalypse featuring zombies.

My mum looks from me to Victoria, "how do you know each other?", she asks. "Um...were travelling together too", I explain. "We were heading up to Alaska", I continue.

Victoria
"Seems the safest place to go" I added to what Johann had said, and with a.quick glance at the other people I asked, "Where are you lot heading?"

"Just in the general northern direction", my mum says. "We had to leave the city after...after", she beckons me forward. I lean in and she says quietly, "your father is dead". I blink a couple of times, not sure what I was hearing.

Victoria
I glanced between the two, not catching what she had said, I looked closely at Johann to see if his have gave away anything.

I stare at something behind my mum, not really paying attention. "He's...he's dead", I say quietly. I turn to the left and walk away slightly.

Victoria
I glance at Ms Winters for a second, "Joey?" I asked quietly, walking to his side, placing a hand on his shoulder.

I look up at Victoria, "My fathers dead", I say in a small voice. I look back down to the floor, and sit down cross legged.

Victoria
A small 'Oh' escapes my lips and I wrap my arms around Johann as I sit down beside him. "I'm sorry" mumbled, ignoring the amount of people around us and kissed the side of his head.

"We used to go fishing together", I say quietly. "Well, when I say fishing I mean throwing a rod out into the stream near our house". I laugh slightly, "We never caught a single fish".

Victoria
"Fishing? I never would have thought you as one to go fishing. Actually if I think about it its not that hard to believe" I stayed in the close position to him, kissing his head again.

I smile into the distance. "It was...ugh I don't know", I look at Victoria, my smile fading. "I suppose something like this was inevitable", I sigh.

Victoria
I studied his face, and nodded, "unfortunately, it is" I took one of his hands in mine and gave it a small reassuring squeeze. "let's hope it doesn't happen to one of us"

I nod slightly, "Mm". I stand up slowly and walk over to mum, finally noticing other people. "I'm sorry", I say and hug her.

Victoria
I followed Joey back to his mother and stayed a small distance, allowing them a bit of privacy. I linked my hands behind my back, watching the scene carefully.

I pull back from my mum and take a deep breath, "do you want to come with us to Alaska?", I ask as I try to pull myself together.

Victoria
I squinted slightly at the proposition Johann had suggested to his mum. Personally, I preferred travelling with just Joey but I guess since this is his mother our will be a lot different from our experience with Lucas.

My mum smiles widely, "of course, darling". I look over at Victoria and smile, "don't worry", I tell her. "This wont be another Lucas fiasco".

Victoria
"I hope not because that would be just pure creepy" Subconsciously rubbing just below my injured shoulder.

I smile at her comment, "true". I notice Victoria rubbing her injured arm and move towards her. I place a hand tentatively on her arm, "you okay?"

Victoria
I flinched away from his hand "I'm fine" I replied coolly, then sighed "I'm fine let's just get going. Standing around here won't achieve anything fast" I said softer this time.

I nod slightly in agreement. "We should head in that direction then", I say and point north west slightly. My mum nods and starts to walk, motioning for the Smiths to join her. I stay back with Victoria and wait until everyone was out of earshot. "Sorry about this".

Victoria
I nodded slightly "It's fine" I replied, and as I felt his hand brush against mine, I carefully laced them together. I glanced up to him to check if that was okay.

I smile and squeeze her hand slightly. I lean forward and kiss her softly. "Shall we get going", I say quietly as I lean back.
