I nod, "sounds promising". I turn back to Lucas, "well, if you've found your way, we'll be off". He nods and turns west, "it was nice meeting you", he says. "Oh, and thanks".

Victoria
I nod at the guy, before lowering my gun making sure it was on safety lock. "So is that where we are heading: Alaska?" I asked, I had always wanted to visit there. Before the outbreak my Dad and I were planning to go live up there for a while.

I pick my bag up and start walking north. "If you wish it", I say. I turn around so I was facing her and walk backwards. I hold out my hand for her to follow. It seemed that I was getting more and more confident with her.

Victoria
I smiled at him, secured my bag on my shoulders and took his hand for a second before dropping it. Too platonic. I knew I need to stop this... This feeling. I can't get too close to him, because if something happens to either of us it will be less painful for the other if we keep some distance. "I've always wanted to go to Alaska"

"Dream come true", I mutter. "What made you decide you wanted to go there?" I ask. If we were going to travel all the way up to Alaska then we might as well start the back stories.

"It just seems so pretty. I've always had a soft spot for pretty things, and views, even though I hate heights" I replied, smiling softly and looking towards the ground. "Ah, too soft-y sounding." I change my voice so it sounds rougher and manlier "Bears. Fucking bears. I love me bears. Like me, they are. Big tough fluffy and bear-like"

"Tough, maybe but big and fluffy", I say. "I don't think so". I suddenly think, "how come you have to make everything seem...well, tough?", I ask.

Victoria
I ruffle his hair "Fluffy" I concluded, "'Cos you're not are you" I replied, smirking at him, but dropped it quickly as I remembered something. I scratched beneath my chin before looking back up to Joe and smiling.

I look up at Victoria and see her smile. But only her mouth was smiling, her eyes had a glazes look. "Is everything okay?", I ask.

Victoria
I nodded, "Fine fine, just" No. "What about you; where have you always wanted to go?" I asked changing the subject to him. Much more interesting.

I notice her trying to change the subject but don't point it out.whatever it was it was her business."Well I've always like the sound of England", I say in a dreamy voice.

Victoria
"England is lovely- when it is not raining. Just avoid Liverpool. Someone will sit on you and you will become a pancake" I said, "Oh I should mention they will eat you afterwards"

"I'll keep that in mind" if I ever gain the courage, "if I ever earn the money. Which right now isn't an option", I sigh rather heavily and gaze up at the sky.

Victoria
"We could swim there" I suggest, hm, I don't like swimming too much. I don't like my hair getting wet. "I am sure we will be able to get jobs and earn money- it'd be nice to go home for a while"

"As I may have mentioned before I'm not great at sports. Swimming included", I say and start to kick a pebble back and forth. "Do you have any other family in England?" I ask out of curiosity.

I shook my head, "Just my Dad and I. Well, just me now" I said, walking with my head turned upwards towards the canopy.

My eyes continued to look up. I didn't notice the log in front of me until I ended up flat on my face. "Who put that log there", I said slurring my words. It seemed I had hit my head on a small rock. I rolled over onto my back.

Victoria
I glanced at him, trying so hard to stifle my laughter, "Oh, Princess, look out for the bloody log" I walked to his side and offer down a hand to help him up. But just as I touched his hand, a sharp pain shot through my arm. I pulled back quickly, "Shit static" I grumbled but offered my hand again.

I ignored her hand and focused instead on the sky. "Grey", I say quietly as if to myself. I suddenly remember and click my fingers at Victoria. "With great power comes great responsibility", I giggle slightly but then frown. "Rocks hurt".

Victoria
"Erm, Joe?" I looked down very confused towards my companion. "Joe are you okay?" I ask and lower myself down so I could look at him properly.

I frown again. "No?", I say confused. "That rock hit me", I say. I suddenly grab the front of Victoria's shirt and look at her wide eyed. "I think the rocks out to get me", I whisper.

Victoria
I manage to push him off him muttering, "That boulder over there will be fucking out to get you when I throw it at your thick head" I carefully twisted him round and lifted him up so he was resting against the log. I moved his head carefully to the side to look for any damage. Blood. Ah fucking shit.

As Victoria drops my head it flops to the side of its own accord and rolls onto my chest. "Dizzy. So dizzy", I moan. "Why is the floor spinning?" I ask. I quickly turn myself over so I could throw up over the log, away from Victoria.

Victoria
"Okay gross. Maybe just close yours eyes? It might stop the spinning since you can't see it" I find some tissues and lifted his head again. I wiped his mouth first, then got to work on his head. I know fuck all about injuries like this, minor, yes, concussions, no. I just decided to clean the wound. "Here, drink" I handed him a bottle of water.

I take big gulps of the water and hand it back to Victoria. I feel her hand touch my head and so I look into her eyes. "You're...you're so beautiful", I stutter before everything went dark.
