Sophie and Hazel, numéro 1

I think for a moment. "Why not start from the very beginning", I suggest. "That's always a good place to go".

Victoria
"Erm. Right. I was born in Lancaster, and lived with Dad in a small houdse for a while until Dad got a job down in Devon. We moved there when I was in Year 2" I said.

"No idea where that is, but keep going", I urge her on. I shuffle slightly closer and rest my head on my hands.

Victoria
"Both in England" I smiled at him, "I didn't move to America until I was fifteen. We move about a lot because of Dad's job and my, erm troubles, with school" I said, watching him carefully.

I gaze at Victoria critically, "tell me more, tell me more", I quote grease. "Surely you can give me more information than that. We've been through enough together", I have a thought. "What if we take turns", I suggest.

Victoria
"Good idea, tell me something about your past" I said, generally curious to his answer. I shuffled into a comfier position, smiling.

"Well, I was born in Albuquerque. I almost killed my mother, as I may have already said", my eyes start to tear up but I blink furiously and force them to stop. "Both my fathers parents died when I was starting middle school", I say. "Now you".

Victoria
"That is a bit sad isn't it?" I asked, deciding to not mention the tears. "I spent most of the time with Dad, it was hard to make friends when moving around so much" I said, deciding it wasn't comfy where I was, so moved next to Joe.

"Yeah", I sigh. "But then again, that's me. The sad, little dork in the back of the class". I move slightly closer to Victoria, "what about your mother?", I ask quietly.

Victoria
"I don't have a mother" I said, shrugging, and leant against Joe slightly, comfy. "Any siblings?" I asked.

"Sadly, no", I say and lean my head against her. "All alone now", I add. "What about you?"

Victoria
"Only child. Dad and me. That was our family" I said, resting my head on his and closing my eyes. Yup, we are becoming very platonic, but right now I didn't care one bit. I was sort of dependant on the safety I felt leant against him. "Hey, Joey..?" I said, not moving much. "You are still you" I was glad, so very glad for this. I didn't want to be alone again.

"As me as I'll ever be", I said. "Hey, I'm a poet", I yawn. "We should probably get to sleep if we want to make any progress tomorrow", I say and stand up, starting to blow out the candles.

Victoria
"Mm, yes to both" I replied, "I like poetry, I have just never been good at writing it" I moved myself on to the makeshift bed and settled down, again on the left handside.

After blowing out all the candles I place them inside the shelter along with everything else, so that they couldn't be found by passers-by. I follow Victoria onto the right hand side of the bed. After a few seconds I reach out my arm to wrap around her.

Victoria
I cuddled into his warmth as soon as he settled down. "Not drying damp hair on a cold night is a bad idea" I noticed my voice slightly muffled.

I take off my jacket and wrap it around her. "There", I say. "Extra warmth". I cuddle back up to her searching for warmth.

Victoria
"But you will be cold now" I noticed, but snuggled (ilovethatword) into his jacket nevertheless. "What do you think is going to happen to us?" I asked, becoming more tired by the second, but I was curious for his thoughts.

"Something good? Something bad?", I say. "Little bit of both?", I reach over to my bag and pull out a blanket I had acquired at the shop. "Thought this might be of use", I say and throw it over us both.

Victoria
"Bloody genius" I giggled softly, "I hope something good. I hope we can get out of this alive, together." I said, closing my eyes, happy we had a blanket. At least now we probably won't die of the cold.

"We will", I say firmly. "We will get out of this alive, if it kills me". I couldn't let her die. She was the one person in my life who didn't ridicule me. At least not anymore.

Victoria
"That is besides the point. To get out alive, you have to be, well, alive" I commented, tugging at the ends of my hair. "Plus I don't want you to die" What is it with tiredness that makes you emotional and try to spill out your heart? I have no idea but it is annoying me currently. I had to stop myself before I say something seriously bad.

"Hmmm? And why is that, might I ask?", I say through a yawn.

Victoria
"Hm" I could tell I was half asleep by now, "I like you. You're different from all the idiots around here. You didn't run away screaming because of my weapons. You stayed and became my only friend" I rambled quietly.

"I lo-like you to", I say back. Dammit, Joe. Almost slipped up, again. I really hoped Victoria hadn't caught on to it. But then the thought of embarrassment became scrambles as I drifted closer to sleep.
