Sophie and Hazel, numéro 1

I carefully pick the puppy up and cradle it in my arms. "Hey, little guy", I say quietly to it.

(Awh)
The puppy wagged its tail, and getting used to this human, attempted to lick his nose. It let out a squeaky bark as it failed its licking mission.

I laughed at the puppies attempt. "Aww, dude didn't anyone ever tell you not to go licking peoples noses". I move him, wait, yeah its a boy, into a more comfortable position. "So, what's your name", I look at the tag on his collar. "Bolt? Its a little cliché but I like it. Even if bolt wasn't your breed of dog".

The puppy barked again, as if confirming Johann's words, and wagged his tail more.

I smile at the confirmation. "Bolt it is" I say. "Where did you come from anyway?", I ask, not really expecting an answer.

Bolt reached up to lick his nose again, but ended up chewing on part of Johann's top instead.

I shake my head slightly and smile. "Okay", I consider. "If no one is around to care for you...would you like to tag along with me?"

Bolt yipped then continued his chewing.

Victoria
The walk was further than I thought, and I didn't even reach the end of the crack when I saw a way over. A tree had toppled over, creating a perfect, if a bit leafy, bridge. I took a deep breath, and walked to the edge of it. Okay, don't look fucking down applies very much right now. I didn't walk across yet though, I wasn't sure where Johann was so it would be seemingly idiotic to cross.

After walking away from the crack slightly when I found Bolt I decide to head back in that direction in search of Victoria. When I reach the edge I shout, "Victoria!"

Victoria
"Joe?" I call back, he's close I can tell. I carefully climbed onto the log, mentally preparing myself for the walk across, then setting off very slowly. I hate heights. Fucking hate them.

I head in the direction of her voice. "Oh my god, what the fuck are you doing", I mutter as I see Victoria on the log. I take off at a run until I get to the tree.

Victoria
At the sound of feet, I glanced up briefly, catching his eye before lowering my head to concentrate on where I was standing. I avoided looking past the log, as many explitives that children must not hear escaped my lips everytime.

I wait at the edge of the fallen tree for Victoria, not willing to cross. "Need any help?", I ask/shout.

Victoria
"I wouldn't want you to fall, that would do no one a fucking favour" I noticed, and slowly made it across. As soon as I reached the other side I pulled Johann into a hug, but a small yelp made me pull back. "What in God's name was that?"

I look from Victoria to Bolt, "um..." I hold him out slightly so that Victoria could see, "Victoria, meet bolt".

Victoria
"Only you, Johann Winters, can be left alone for what? An hour? And find a bloody puppy the middle of a fucking zombie apocolypse!" I sighed, staring sharply at the puppy who wiggled in Johann's grip.

I pull Bolt back towards me and rock him slightly, trying to calm him down. "Don't look at him like that", I moan.

Victoria
Bolt whimpered again, then tilted his head looking over at me. "We are not keeping a fucking puppy" I announced, staring back at the puppy, making a coantest out of it.

I made a pout-y face. "Aww, but ge wont survive on his own", I say sadly.

Victoria
With a glance towards Johann, I sighed and rubbed my eyes with one hand. "Fine. Fine" I said, shaking my head. "But you have to care for him"

I wide smile spreads across my face. "No problem there", I say. "We had a puppy when I was younger".

Victoria
"I look forward to see that- you can't even look after yourself sometimes."But smiled, reaching forward and squeezing his cheek playfully.

"It'll be fine", I say reassuringly. I hold the puppy in my left arm and reach out my right to stroke her hair. "Are you okay?" I ask in a softer tone.
