"How can you tell?"Zach asked looking up, eyes of a child who has been through enough filled with tears.

Ellie
"Drew would of reacted, but look, he's asleep there" I say, pointing off to the side of the bed. "If you listen you can't hear anyone. And if you look around you can't see anyone" I say, quietly.

"I don't want to look around,"Zach said shoving his head beneath the blanket again.

Ellie
"Okay" I say softly "Just listen to me. There is no one here. I will go check if that would make you fell better"

Zach finally snapped out of it, turning around in the bed."Sorry,"he muttered.

Ellie
"I'm the one who should be sorry" I sighed.

"Why?"Zach asked avoiding to look at her.

Ellie
"I thought I could make you believe in Santa" I said, "I never knew you would react like that" I add.

"You don't know a lot of stuff about me,"Zach said with a finishing tone, ending that conversation.

Ellie
I sighed, turning so I wasn't facing him.

I felt my phone buzz. It was my publisher. "Zachariah. Would you do me a huge favour?" I asked, placing my phone in my pocket.

"What is it now?"Zach asked, quite pleased she called him by his full name.

Ellie
"My publisher has asked me to go to a christmas party. But I'm no allowed to come alone" I said, sighing.

"So?"Zach asked crossing his ankles while he flipped a page in his book.

Ellie
"Would you go with me? I don't want to seem like a loner" I say, looking at him.

"Aww, that's really adorable. Who says I don't have anything planned?"Zach asked.

Ellie
"The fact you're sat reading a book, like mostly every night" I reply. "Anyway, I have heard there will free drinks" I add, hoping that will tempt him.

"Okay, count me in."Zach closed the book almost immediately."Hey, do I have to wear a monkey suit?"

Ellie
I rolled my eyes "If a 'monkey suit' is your way of saying something nice. Then yes you do" I reply, thankful he had said yes.

"But I don't have a tux. Or anything nice."Zach added smirking.

Ellie
"Well find something that isn't t-shirt and jeans" I sigh.

"Let's make a deal. White shirt, vest and jeans. Otherwise nothing."Zach said.

Ellie
"It would probably be illegal to go wearing nothing, so fine" I say, "Be ready in 15 minutes" I add, walking off to get ready.

"I meant nothing as in no-go, but okay."Zach rolled his eyes and went to the bedroom. He came out in five minutes fixing the vest."Okay I don't wanna go."
